I Love Artiste D'ici
Apropos
"In the context of Covid-19, the City of Geneva has initiated an exhibition of ephemeral works by artists in the streets of the city, in order to support visual artists, showcase their work and encourage encounters with the public. In 2020, 70 artists were able to be exhibited, rising to 88 in 2021.
On Tuesday 15 and Thursday 17 December 2020, 70 visual artists will be taking over the billboards in the heart of Geneva.
The I LOVE #ArtisteDici project, coordinated by the FMAC in collaboration with the production venues - FAK - Kugler, RU, Vélodrome, Picto, Gus and Laboratoire de création - is both a project to support artists and an opportunity to exhibit works in the public space. It's a rare opportunity to highlight the richness, diversity and talent of the local art scene.
The work presented at the Place des Nations in front of the United Nations, depicts people queuing up - to withdraw money from an ATM, to do their shopping, waiting to get into a concert, in line to receive a food ration, at a checkpoint in the territories occupied by the State of Israel. This work has been part of the ATELOPHOBIA series since 2016.
